The Firm's highly experienced investment team has an established track record of delivering strong investment performance.

Dion Hershan
Dion Hershan EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND HEAD OF AUSTRALIAN EQUITIES

Dion is Executive Chairman and Head of Australian Equities. He is responsible for leading the Australian Equities team, and is a Portfolio Manager focussed on large cap equities.

Prior to transitioning to Yarra Capital Management, Dion was the Head of Australian Equities of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a position he held since July 2007.

He was previously a Fund Manager at Citadel Investment Group based in New York where he managed a long/short portfolio. He also worked as an Analyst and Fund Manager for Boston-based Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for managing a diversified fund.

Before moving to the US, Dion worked at Boston Consulting Group where he undertook financial and quantitative analysis, project and client account management.

Dion holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University and an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.

Edward Eason
Edward Eason MANAGING DIRECTOR

Edward leads Yarra’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for the delivery of the Firm's strategic priorities.

Edward joined Yarra Capital Management in August 2021. He is an accomplished financial services leader, bringing more than 20 years’ financial services industry experience. He was most recently Chief Financial Officer, Enterprise Services, at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) where he had financial accountability for the CBA Group’s digital, technology and operations functions.

Before becoming CBA's CFO of Enterprise Services in 2017, Edward was an Executive General Manager at CBA, where he had overall responsibility for the bank’s global strategy function, working closely alongside the Board, CEO and Executive Leadership team. Before joining CBA in 2012, Edward spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Australian Financial Institutions Group (FIG), one of Australia’s largest and most successful FIG teams.

Edward has a Master of Arts from the University of Cambridge.

Michael Berk
Michael Berk NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Michael Berk is a Managing Director at TA Associates, where he co-leads the firm’s North America Services Group and focuses on investments in business and financial services companies.

He is a member of TA’s Core Investment and Portfolio Committees, and he also has responsibility for supporting TA’s Hong Kong office. Michael joined TA in 2004 and has approximately 20 years of experience in the private equity industry.

Michael serves on the Board of Directors of National IPA, Professional Warranty Service Corporation, SpeedCast International, Towne Park and Truck Hero. He also was actively involved in TA’s investments in AboveNet and Keeley Asset Management, and he formerly served on the Boards of Dealer Tire, Microban International and Triumph HealthCare. Prior to joining TA, Michael worked in private equity at JLL Partners and Frontenac Company.

Michael holds an AB degree, magna cum laude, in East Asian Studies from Harvard College, a JD degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School.

Masato Degawa
Masato Degawa NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | SENIOR ADVISER, JAPAN

A former President and Head of Blackrock Japan, Masato is one of the Asia Pacific region’s most experienced investment professionals.

In addition to his former role with BlackRock, Masato has previously held senior positions with Société Générale Asset Management (Japan) and J.P. Morgan Asset Management. He began his career with Morgan Stanley.

As a Senior Adviser based in Tokyo, Masato is responsible for advising on Yarra Capital Management’s approach to distribution and expansion of the firm’s offer to existing and prospective clients in the Asia Pacific region, with a major focus on Japan. He is also a key point of contact for the firm’s fixed income and multi-asset fund client base in Japan.

Masato holds an MA from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Tony Glover
Tony Glover NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Tony represents the interests of Nikko AM, a 20% shareholder in the Yarra Capital Management Group.

In his role as Global Head of International Sales, Tony oversees all of Nikko Asset Management’s sales activities outside of Japan for institutional and retail investors, and coordinates the firm’s relations with global, regional and local consultants.

Tony has a career in asset management in Japan spanning over 20 years. Prior to joining Nikko Asset Management, he worked in the Japan offices of a number of global asset managers headquartered in Europe, including WestLB Asset Management, Fortis Investments, and BNP Paribas Asset Management. He spent a decade working as an analyst and fund manager investing in the Japanese equity markets before moving to management roles, first as head of the investment team, and then later as Chief Administrative Officer, while also acting as an investment specialist for Japanese equity products, covering clients in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

He is a fluent Japanese speaker after graduating from SOAS (London University) with a BA in Japanese and Economics, and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

Michael Gordon
Michael Gordon NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Michael has had a distinguished career in international investment markets, with a long and successful background working for some of the world’s pre-eminent asset managers.

A past Group Executive of Perpetual Investments, Michael began his career with Rothschild before moving to Schroders where he spent approximately nine years in a number of senior roles, including Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of its Australian business. His international experience includes 10 years with Fidelity International in Sydney, Hong Kong and London, where he became CIO, and two years with BNP Paribas Investment Partners as CIO of its Equities division, based in London. In addition to his role as Non-Executive Director, Michael serves as Chairman of Tyndall AM, an independent investment manager specialising in Australian value equities which is part-owned by the Yarra Capital Management Group.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Technology Sydney.

Mark Lazberger
Mark Lazberger NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mark is one of Australia’s most accomplished investment management executives, with more than 35 years’ experience working with large and successful organisations across Australia, Europe and South-East Asia.

Mark was the Chief Executive Officer at Colonial First State Asset Management (Australia) Limited and First State Investments (now known as First Sentier) from 2008 until 2018. Prior to this, Mark was based in London and served as the President, International at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) with over $2trn in AuM. Mark, when based in Tokyo, was the Chief Executive Officer, President State Street Japan and Regional Managing Director of SSGA’s businesses in Japan, Asia, and Australia.

Mark is the current Chair of CFA Institute’s Board of Governors, a board member of the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia and Fisher Funds Management. He has served on a number of non-profit boards including Sydney Theatre Company and as Co-Chair of the Zero Childhood Cancer fundraising initiative.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a CFA charterholder.

Edward Sippel
Edward Sippel NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Ed is a Managing Director at TA Associates, where he is Co-Head of Asia and manages the Hong Kong office which he helped open in 2011. He focuses on minority equity investments, recapitalisations, and management buyouts of growth companies in the Asia Pacific region.
Ed has lived and worked in Asia since 1997.

Ed has 20 years of experience in deal sourcing, due diligence, structuring, portfolio management and exits across numerous Asian markets. On behalf of TA Associates, Ed currently serves on the Board of Directors of SpeedCast Limited in Hong Kong (ASX:SDA), Nintex in Australia, YeePay in China, and was formerly on the Board of Directors of Forgame Tech in China, a TA Company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Previously, Ed was a Partner at Quadrangle Capital Partners, a global private equity firm. He opened the Hong Kong office for Quadrangle in 2007 and headed the firm’s Asian operations. Prior to joining Quadrangle, he worked at TVG Capital Partners as Managing Director and Partner, The Asian Infrastructure Fund, and Morgan Stanley based in in New York.

Ed holds a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University.

Katie Hudson
Katie Hudson EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND HEAD OF AUSTRALIAN EQUITIES RESEARCH

Katie is a portfolio manager focused on the small and midcap universe and, in addition, serves as the Firm's Head of Australian Equities Research.

Katie has more than 20 years of experience in investment markets, including roles as an equities research analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to transitioning to Yarra Capital Management, Katie was a portfolio manager and managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Katie has previously worked at JM Financial Group on individual managed account portfolios and at AR Capital, a long/short fund, where she was involved with investment strategy and portfolio management and as an equities analyst and partner at JBWere.

Earlier in her career, Katie spent seven years at PwC where she was a senior manager primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory and transaction support.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Melbourne and was previously a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Roy Keenan
Roy Keenan CO-HEAD OF AUSTRALIAN FIXED INCOME

Roy is a senior leader within the Fixed Income team at Yarra Capital Management, focusing on Australian Fixed Income and Credit.

Roy has over 30 years’ investment experience both in asset management and trading, specialising in credit products since 1995. He has been part of the investment management team for the Yarra Enhanced Income Funds since the Funds’ inception in 2002 and continues to manage these Funds. Roy is also co-portfolio manager to the Yarra Income Plus Fund.

Before transitioning to Yarra Capital Management, Roy was Head of Australian Credit at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1992, where he worked within the firm’s securities division as a price maker/trader in government and corporate bonds, and from 1997 served as Head of the Fixed Income Desk where he specialised in broking and trading high yield products. He joined the Asset Management division in 2008. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Roy worked for four years in the Investment Management Division of the State Insurance Office. In 1988, Roy moved to the Treasury Corporation of Victoria and specialised in liability management of debt products, both domestically and offshore.

Roy holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Swinburne University, Melbourne.

Darren Langer
Darren Langer CO-HEAD OF AUSTRALIAN FIXED INCOME

Darren is a senior leader within the Fixed Income team at Yarra Capital Management, focusing on Australian Fixed Income.

He joined Nikko Asset Management in 2008 and transitioned to Yarra Capital Management in April 2021, where he is the Co-Head of Australian Fixed Income.

At Yarra Capital Management, Darren maintains overall responsibility for the flagship Australian Bond strategy and the Insurance & Customised Solutions segment of the Australian fixed income offering. He manages customised and market based benchmark mandates and has experience in managing liability portfolios and regulated asset portfolios.

Darren has more than 30 years’ investment experience, including 13 years with Perpetual Limited. Prior to Perpetual, Darren spent 7 years in various bank treasury roles.

Darren holds a Master of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Business (Finance and Economics) and is a certified PRM and FRM.

Vito D’Introno
Vito D’Introno CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Vito is responsible for leading Yarra Capital Management's Strategy, Product Development and Marketing functions.

Vito has over 20 years’ experience in Funds Management specialising in Distribution Product and Marketing (DPM). Prior to joining Yarra Capital Management, he worked at Challenger Financial Group, most recently as Acting Chief Executive of the Groups DPM function. He was previously Head of Retail across both Challenger and Fidante.

Vito holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.

Garvin Louie
Garvin Louie CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER AND GENERAL COUNSEL

Garvin leads the Firm's Legal, Risk & Compliance and Human Resources functions.

Garvin has 15 years’ experience as a lawyer specialising in the funds and financial services industry. Prior to assuming the role as Yarra Capital Management’s General Counsel in January 2017, he was Senior Legal Counsel working within the Goldman Sachs Legal Department as the dedicated lawyer for the Australian Investment Management Division, covering both the Asset Management and Private Wealth Management businesses since 2010.

At Yarra, Garvin has either led or had senior involvement in a range of critical projects, including the Management Buyout, and transition of operations away from Goldman Sachs and into the Firm's own operating platform. In addition to having overall responsibility for Yarra Capital Management’s Legal, Risk & Compliance and Human Resources functions, Garvin is a Company Secretary to each of the Boards in the Yarra Capital Management Group.

Garvin holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Melbourne.

Nioka Maquinad
Nioka Maquinad HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Nioka is responsible for the Human Resources function across the Yarra Group.

She joined Nikko Asset Management in 2017 and transitioned to Yarra Capital Management in April 2021, where she is the Head of Human Resources.

Her remit includes advisory to the Leadership Team on people strategy and is responsible for recruitment, reward and benefits, culture and talent development. Nioka has 11 years’ experience in the Human Resources field, nine of which were in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Nikko Asset Management, Nioka was a Human Resources Consultant for the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Nioka holds a Master of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Sydney.

Carmen Barrett
Carmen Barrett HEAD OF FINANCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Carmen leads the Firm’s Finance and Information Technology function.

She joined Yarra Capital Management in 2020 and has 19 years’ experience in financial services, most recently at property fund manager MaxCap Group where she was a Senior Manager (Operations and Finance).

She previously spent more than eight years' based in London within private equity group Ares Management, when she was a Fund Controller. Carmen began her career with EY, where she spent approximately five years working in Business Services.

Carmen holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the Queensland University of Technology and qualified as a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in 2007.

Tim Toohey
Tim Toohey HEAD OF MACRO AND STRATEGY

Tim works closely with the investment team, advising on both the outlook for financial markets and asset allocation. He is also co-Portfolio Manager of the Yarra Income Plus Fund.

Prior to joining Yarra Capital Management, Tim was Chief Economist of Ellerston Capital’s Global Macro team. With more than 25 years’ industry experience, Tim is one of Australia’s most highly regarded economists. He previously spent 15 years as Chief Economist and Head of Macro Strategy Australia and New Zealand at Goldman Sachs, during which time he was named Australia’s number one economist in the Greenwich survey for 13 consecutive years from 2003-2016.

Tim has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne (Honours in Economics) and a Masters of Economics also from The University of Melbourne.

Erin Kuo
Erin Kuo CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER

Erin is responsible for leading Yarra’s corporate sustainability and works closely with Yarra’s investment teams to support best practise Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) integration into the Firm’s investment processes.

She has over 15 years’ experience working within sustainability. Erin joined Yarra in October 2022 from a consulting business, advising fund managers and family offices on ESG matters. She was previously Chief Impact Officer at Impact Investment Group and held senior positions across Impact Investing Australia and Pacific Corporate Group, the world’s largest cleantech private equity investor, where she led projects in the US, India and Australia.

Erin holds a BA in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD from Monash University.

David Acton
David Acton PORTFOLIO MANAGER, PRIVATE CAPITAL

David is a Portfolio Manager within the Australian Equities team, leading the Firm's Private Capital capability.

David has 30 years' international equity capital markets experience, having worked internationally and domestically. He was most recently a Senior Advisor at Rothschild Australia with a focus on Equity Capital markets and corporate advice. Prior to Rothschild, David spent 25 years at global investment banks with roles in equity research, equity sales and trading.

Between 2000 and 2016, David worked at Goldman Sachs in New York, Singapore and Sydney advising institutional investors. He was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, managing the Equities division of Goldman Sachs in Australia from 2011 to 2016 and holding risk committee and board roles.

David is a Chartered Financial Analyst®, holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) degree and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.

Joel Fleming
Joel Fleming PORTFOLIO MANAGER, MICROCAPS

Joel is a Portfolio Manager within the Australian Equities team, leading the Firm's Microcaps Strategy.

Joel previously spent seven years at UBS Asset Management, where he was the lead Microcaps Portfolio Manager and was responsible for the analysis of Australian emerging companies. His prior experience includes four years with ING Investment Management and three years at Allianz Global Investors-RCM as a Small Companies Analyst focused on ex-100 industrial companies. Joel began his career with Paterson Ord Minnett, Perth, where he covered emerging WA industrial companies.

Joel holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Michael Steele
Michael Steele CO-PORTFOLIO MANAGER, SMALL CAPS

Michael is co-Portfolio Manager of the Firm's Smaller Companies strategy and is responsible for analysing the consumer sector and ex-100 companies within the Australian equities team.

Michael previously spent nine years as an investment manager for Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (First Class Honours) from The University of Melbourne.

Marcus Ryan
Marcus Ryan DEPUTY PORTFOLIO MANAGER, BROADCAP EQUITIES

Marcus is Deputy Portfolio Manager of the Yarra Australian Equities Fund. He is responsible for research and analysis of real estate, healthcare and building materials securities.

Marcus previously spent 11 years as an investment manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he also covered real estate, insurance and building materials.

Marcus holds a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University, including abroad programs at Boston College, USA (Carroll School of Management) and the University of Ulm, Germany (Advanced Materials).

Edward Waller
Edward Waller DEPUTY PORTFOLIO MANAGER, EX-20 EQUITIES

Ed is Deputy Portfolio Manager of the Yarra Ex-20 Australian Equities Fund. He is responsible for research and analysis of banks, diversified financials, infrastructure and utilities securities.

Ed previously worked for 10 years as an investment manager for Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Prior to that he was a Research Analyst at Adviser Edge Investment Research where he analysed managed investment scheme projects across a broad range of agricultural industries.

Ed holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (First Class Honours) from The University of Melbourne.

Leo Leslie
Leo Leslie SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Leo joined Nikko Asset Management in 2012 and transitioned to Yarra Capital Management in April 2021.

At Yarra, Leo is responsible for managing high yield credit and loan investments, including the Nikko AM Australian LBO Loan Fund. He also has responsibility for credit analysis of various domestic and global issuers, focusing particularly on infrastructure-related credits.

Leo brings more than 30 years’ experience, across asset management and wholesale banking, both locally and offshore. He previously spent approximately 18 years with State Bank of NSW in various lending, relationship management, structured finance and workouts roles, both in Sydney and New York. This was followed by 6 years with Paribas Australia and BNP Paribas, including as a director in the Leveraged Finance Europe team, based in London. Prior to joining the business, Leo held senior credit roles with Maple Financial Group and Causeway Asset Management, where he had responsibility for assessing, structuring and managing bespoke private debt transactions for middle market borrowers.

Leo holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Finance and Systems) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Charl Marais
Charl Marais SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Charl is a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for external manager research and multi-manager strategies on behalf of clients in Australia and New Zealand. He also looks after the ARK model portfolios for Separately Managed Accounts.

He has 21 years of investment industry experience from financial institutions in South Africa and Australia. He spent the first five years of his career as a stockbroker and portfolio manager (advisory and discretionary), followed by two years in risk management as a credit risk analyst. Charl moved to Australia in 2007, starting as a fund research analyst at Morningstar before joining Nikko AM Limited (then Tyndall AM) in May 2008, transitioning to Yarra Capital Management in April 2021.

Charl holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Stellenbosch, is a Chartered Financial Analyst® and a certified Financial Risk Manager.

Phil Strano
Phil Strano SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER, CREDIT

With an extensive career in asset management and institutional banking, Phil is a credit specialist with a deep understanding of the fixed income landscape.

He is Portfolio Manager of the Yarra Higher Income Strategy and Deputy Portfolio Manager for Yarra’s RMBS and LBO strategies.

In 10 years managing portfolios and 20 years analysing financial markets/securities, Phil has amassed extensive experience in all major credit segments. These include listed/unlisted, rated/unrated, investment and sub-investment grade, bonds/loans and derivative instruments.

Prior to joining Yarra Capital Management in May 2017, Phil spent eight years with Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) in senior roles managing credit portfolios. He previously spent approximately four years with Challenger as a Senior Analyst and a Portfolio Manager, following more than 10 years with National Australia Bank where he worked first as an Economist and Analyst before moving into the institutional banking team to cover credit.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Latrobe University, a Graduate Diploma Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA) and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Management.

Hugh Morgan
Hugh Morgan SENIOR INVESTMENT MANAGER

Hugh is a Senior Investment Manager within the Australian Equities team, responsible for the research and analysis of resources and energy companies.

He was previously a Senior Research Analyst and Head of Research at fund manager JCP Investment Partners, where he covered the resources, energy, utilities and steel sectors. Prior to entering funds management, Hugh was a top rated sell-side equity research analyst at Deutsche Bank, responsible for energy and utilities research.

Hugh holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University, and is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

Mark O’Neill
Mark O’Neill SENIOR INVESTMENT MANAGER

Mark is responsible for both equity trading, and also equity portfolio risk analysis across all Yarra equity strategies.

Mark joined Yarra Capital Management from Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2017. Mark worked for Goldman Sachs for 17 years, initially based in London working in Risk Management and Analysis, and more recently in Equity Portfolio Construction focusing on Global and European equity strategies. He then transitioned to the Australian equities team in Melbourne in 2011.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Business (Hons), the Investment Management Certificate from the UK Society of Investment Professionals and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst®.

Olivia Bayley
Olivia Bayley INVESTMENT MANAGER

Olivia is an investment manager covering Industrial and Technology companies within the Australian Equities team.

Olivia joined Yarra Capital Management after spending five years with AustralianSuper, where she was most recently an Equity Analyst covering Infrastructure and Utilities. Olivia previously worked in AustralianSuper’s Unlisted Infrastructure Team following completion of AustralianSuper’s two-year graduate program, during which time she had exposure to its Infrastructure, Property, and Fixed Income teams.

Olivia holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Finance from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Rhys Corry
Rhys Corry INVESTMENT MANAGER

Rhys is responsible for analysing and researching Australian investment and non-investment grade corporate credit within Yarra’s Fixed Income team

He has over seven years of experience working in debt capital markets. He joined Yarra Capital Management in January 2022 from S&P, where he was an Associate responsible for a portfolio of Australian and NZ corporate issuers spanning mining, real estate, healthcare and media & entertainment.

Rhys has Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Finance degrees from Latrobe University and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Tina Everist
Tina Everist INVESTMENT MANAGER

Tina is responsible for trading across a range of fixed income, credit, multi-sector, hybrids, derivatives and money market securities.

She also provides research and analysis across our portfolios, various domestic and global issuers, and the Fixed Income universe..

Tina has more than 17 years of experience in asset management. She was previously an Associate at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she worked across a number of teams, including product development, client services, fund accounting and product management.

Tina holds a Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance) from RMIT University, Melbourne.

Roy Mao
Roy Mao INVESTMENT MANAGER

Roy is an Investment Manager responsible for the credit analysis of mortgage and asset backed securities, banks, and diversified financials.

Prior to joining Yarra, Roy was an Associate at S&P in the structured finance team covering Australian and New Zealand RMBS issuance and surveillance.

Roy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance & Accounting) from the University of Melbourne and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Jessica Ren
Jessica Ren INVESTMENT MANAGER

Jessica is an Investment Manager within the Fixed Income team.

She is focused on portfolio management, including portfolio construction and trading, for multi-sector portfolios which include the flagship Australian Bond Strategy and the Insurance & Customised Solutions segment of the firm's Australian fixed income offering.

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Arts (Politics & International Relations) from The University of New South Wales.

Josh Baron
Josh Baron SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

Josh is a Senior Investment Analyst covering Private Capital investment opportunities within the Australian equities team.

Prior to joining Yarra, Josh was an Investment Analyst in Ellerston Capital's Private Equity group, where he gained experience sourcing, structuring and conducting due diligence on a range of private Australian growth stage and pre-IPO investment opportunities.

Josh holds Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degrees from Monash University. During his studies, Josh completed internships across equity capital markets advisory, M&A, equities research and venture capital.

David Schwartz
David Schwartz SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

David is a Senior Investment Analyst within the Australian Equities team, responsible for the research and analysis of consumer, telco and gaming companies.

He was previously an Investment Analyst at fund manager River Capital, where he covered small/midcap companies. Prior to entering funds management, David was a sell-side equity research analyst at Goldman Sachs, responsible for industrials research.

David holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

Mathew Wong
Mathew Wong SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

Mathew is a senior investment analyst covering ex-100 companies within the Australian Equities team.

Prior to joining full-time in January 2020, Mathew interned with Yarra Capital Management, gaining experience in the Equities, Fixed Income, Marketing and Distribution, and Legal and Compliance teams.

Mathew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) from The University of Melbourne

Josh is an Investment Analyst covering Microcap companies within the Australian equities team.

He joined Yarra Capital Management in January 2022 from a leading private wealth boutique, where he worked as an Associate Portfolio Manager.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics majoring in Finance from the University of Sydney and is currently undertaking the CFA program.

Elvira Hakim
Elvira Hakim INVESTMENT ANALYST

Elvira is an Investment Analyst within the Fixed Income team, responsible for in-depth credit analysis on the Utility, Infrastructure and Airport sectors, as well as broad research on universities and foreign financials.

She transitioned into the Fixed Income team after joining Yarra Capital Management in May 2023 as a performance analyst, following previous roles at BNP Paribas and NAB Asset Servicing.

Elvira holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from The University of Melbourne.

Angus Jenkins
Angus Jenkins INVESTMENT ANALYST

Angus is an Investment Analyst responsible for conducting research and analysis of portfolios and macroeconomic trends within the fixed income team.

He joined Yarra Capital Management in August 2023, following previous roles as a graduate in the Wesfarmers Industrial Division and as an analyst at a distribution startup.

Angus holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours First Class) and a degree in Actuarial Science from Bond University.

Nick Green
Nick Green HEAD OF INSTITUTIONAL

Nick leads Yarra's institutional client team and is responsible for developing relationships and bringing investment solutions to the Firm's advisory and institutional clients.

Nick previously spent five years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a Key Account Manager, responsible for leading the Australian sales team and developing business relationships with key accounts, dealer groups and platforms nationally and advisers within Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.

Nick has a Master of Applied Finance and Diploma of Financial Planning from Kaplan Professional Education and an Advanced Diploma in Business from the University of Southern Queensland.

Rommel Hacopian
Rommel Hacopian HEAD OF INTERMEDIARY

Rommel leads Yarra's intermediary client team and is responsible for servicing the retail market, focusing on National Dealer Groups, Platforms, Retail Investment Consultants and IFAs.

Rommel has more than 25 years’ industry experience. He previously spent almost 20 years with Challenger, where he helped develop, manage and implement the retail distribution strategy for more than 20 institutional groups and 200 IFA’s for Challenger Life and the Fidante Boutiques. Before joining Challenger in 2000, Rommel held roles with Citi, Associated Planners and National Mutual.

Rommel has a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute.

Tony Andronaco
Tony Andronaco DISTRIBUTION MANAGER - INTERMEDIARY

Tony is part of Yarra Capital Management's Distribution Team, where he is focused on the intermediary market across VIC, SA, WA and TAS.

He has more than 15 years’ experience, joining Yarra in January 2022 from Macquarie where he worked with some of Australia’s largest IFA groups. Tony’s previous roles include working with Fidelity, where he was an Account Manager (VIC/TAS), and Morgans where he was a stockbroker and financial adviser responsible for direct equities trading and portfolio construction.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) from Victoria University and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investments from FINSIA.

Tim Mugglestone

Tim is a Research Relationship Manager responsible for managing and developing deep relationships with key research houses.

At Yarra, Tim provides end-to-end management of investment strategy reviews, working closely with the leadership team to showcase the Firm’s investment capabilities.

He joined Yarra in March 2022 from one of Australia’s largest financial services organisations, where an investment specialist responsible for the management of wholesale, institutional and retail relationships and new business opportunities.

Miyuki Kirihara
Miyuki Kirihara CLIENT SERVICES JAPAN

Miyuki is responsible for supporting Yarra Capital Management’s Japanese clients.

She has more than 10 years of marketing communications experience in retail funds management, most recently working as an Acquisition Marketing Specialist in Tokyo for Legg Mason where she had responsibility for marketing and sales documentation.

Miyuki holds a Graduate Diploma of Marketing from Swinburne University of Technology.
